Ann is Public Health Nurse Midwife and Full Bright Scholar with a Doctoral degree in Health policy, planning and research with a clinical role in maternal and infant health from the Catholic University of America. She has more than twenty years of experience in the planning and delivery of public health services including managing   implementation of health projects funded by multiple donor agencies.

 

Currently serving as Chief of Party responsible for providing leadership and technical guidance for USAID ONSE Health Activity to achieve intermediate result areas of improving access to priority health services as well reducing barriers to delivery of priority health services. These services include MNCAH/FP, Youth /Gender, Malaria, TB, Nutrition, EPI, WASH, Health Systems Strengthening a, demand creation  and integration of Quality improvement interventions in the delivery of these services.

 

Before joining ONSE in May,2018, Ann served in different senior positions in the public health sector. Among others, these positions include: Director of Planning and Policy Development;  Director of Nursing and Midwifery services ;Program manager of donor funded Family Planning and Safe Motherhood Programs in the Ministry of Health and Population Malawi.  As Director of Planning, Ann Championed the development and implementation of the Malawi Health Sector wide Approach that aimed and transforming and strengthening the public health sector to improve public health outcomes. As a Family Planning project manager, she championed utilization of Community health workers to improve access to family planning services to rural marginalised communities.

 

While in the Ministry of health Ann also served as focal person or Strand Lead for Scottish Government funded health projects.

 

 

Ann has also worked as Director of multimillion- dollar Safe motherhood project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates under University of North Carolina (Malawi Program). This program addressed the three major delays associated that contribute to high maternal and neonatal mortality. Evaluation of this project demonstrated that tackling maternal death issues requires multi- pronged approach.  Ann has also served as Full Bright Scholar in Residents at Winston-Salem State University, Northern Carolina and a WHO consultant on decentralization of health services.

Karen Kumakanga, the Chief Executive Officer for the Social Enterprise Academy in Malawi, is the co-founder of Jubilee Enterprise, a local social enterprise, the first Malawian youth focused business development service provider. Jubilee is also a franchise partner of the Social Enterprise Academy. Jubilee Enterprise provides a platform for training leaders, entrepreneurs, sharing ideas and getting informed of opportunities for development.

 

The launch of Jubilee Enterprise in 2014, ushered her into the capacity building space for entrepreneurs, she went on through Jubilee to work with various partners and launch capacity building platforms trainings and programs. Namely the British Council, Graca Machel Trust, then opening a hub for Social Enterprises in Malawi through partnership with the Social Enterprise Academy Scotland.

 

She has served since July 2017 as the youngest director on the Malawi Scotland Partnership board. She seeks to use her well rounded, management and business development experience to enable social innovators and entrepreneurs in Malawi to reach their full potential.

 

She enjoys hiking and good music. She loves art, and has tried her hand at writing for children, stage acting, is part of a band and a strong soprano.

Muthi is a Versatile & multi-talented Project Management professional and NGO Leader with 16 years international development experience with a focus on Water Supply and Resources Management, currently heading up a new water NGO in Malawi called BASEflow.

 

Interests include data-in-use (Mapping & Monitoring), capacity building/systems-thinking, sustainability, communication for development & disruptive innovations

 

He is also an Award-winning Malawian writer.

Ms. Mihowa is a Malawian and a highly-motivated development practitioner with over 15 years of experience in development work with a focus in governance, gender equality and women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health, humanitarian work, livelihoods security and youth development.

She holds a Masters Degree in Leadership and Change Management with a focus on project management and Bachelor of Social Sciences degree as well as a Diploma in NGO Management. She has attended several senior leadership programs including the Duke of Edinburg Leadership Program, US State Department International Visitors Leadership Program and the British Council Leadership Programs.

She has served as a board member for various organisations including Civil Society Network on Nutrition, National Youth Council of Malawi, Natural Resources College, MANICA, TEVETA, The Story Workshop, Airport Development Limited, PELUM, Disabled Women in Development (DIWODE).

 

She is a member of the strategy and Resource Mobilisation Sub-committee of the Board.

 Lucky Crown Mbewe, is a Social Development Activist by profession specialized in Youth Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, Child Rights Promotion and Youth Empowerment and Participation. Mbewe is currently working with Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education (CYECE) as Executive Director. Lucky has undertaken a number of interventions and engagements with regards to promotion if climate justice.

 

He holds a Master of Science Degree in Project Management obtained from Cavendish University Zambia, BSc. Degree in Managing Rural and Community Development from ShareWorld Open University of Malawi and currently pursuing Master of Public Administration with UNICAF University.

 

 Mbewe has over 18 years’ progressive experience leading civil society advocacy including budget tracking and monitoring, policy analysis, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Child Rights and Youth Empowerment and Participation. He has done progressive work in national, regional and global policy engagements for example on Maputo Plan of Action (MPoA), CARMMA, ICPD, CSW among others. Mbewe has also done some work around advocacy for access to Youth Friendly Health Services, lobbying for the enactment of Termination of Pregnancy Bill and participated in development and submission of Shadow Reports on child rights situation in Malawi.

 

He is a member of the Finance, Audit and Human Resource sub-committee of the board.

Babilas Chiyembekezo Ndalama is the Chief Executive Officer of Thyolo Teachers SACCO, one of the fastest growing SACCOs and the second largest in the country. Previously, he worked in various positions at National Bank, FDH Bank and CDH Investment Bank as an Operations Manager.

 

He has a passion for the development of the human person and enjoys working on projects that impact on the development of people. He joined the MaSP Board in July 2021 and is thrilled to be in the MaSP Board. He brings with him to the MaSP Board finance management and governance skills that will scaffold in the smooth running of finance operations at MaSP. He has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Malawi. He is also a certified Development Educator.

Hannah Hausi is a public health specialist, holding a Master`s degree in Public Health. She has worked for over 20 years in several preventive Health interventions.

Hannah has worked with JSI for 10 years in immunization work, and prior to this she was with Ministry of Health for 17 years.

She is currently providing Technical Assistance to Ministry of Health/ EPI on routine immunization and new vaccines introductions including COVID – 19 vaccinations.

Peter Mchenga has 29 years experience  in teaching and school administration. He Became a member of Malawi Scotland Partnership in 2013.  He has visited Scotland in 2013 through the Beath High School  School Partnership and had a chance of having an audience with former Honorable Prime Minister of UK, Mr Goldon Brown

 

He  is also the co-founder of CHIPESO, a community-based organization focusing on child protection for girls and provides educational support to help encourage girls to stay in school in Thyolo.

Godknows maseko is a founder of a successful local child rights organization called STEKA which in 14 years has achieved and contributed towards the development of the country by making sure it promotes the welfare of vulnerable children such as street related children by providing them with a safe home, education, food and mostly parental love.

 

He is also a Holder of Malawi School Certificate of Education and has done short courses in different fields like Peer counseling, psychosocial counselling, TOT care givers and Practical supervision.

 

Currently STEKA is taking care of 90 children with the background of street related life and 21 of them are in different colleges and universities. As government is trying to invest in vocation skill STEKA is also providing vocation skills to youths for self-sustainability.

 

He is a member of the strategy and Resource Mobilisation Sub-committee of the Board.

Dr Phoebe Chifungo is an experienced Educator who has held several senior roles at Malawian Institutions of Higher Learning such as Lake Malawi Anglican University (LAMAU), Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU)  and African Bible Colleges   and is currently a Senior Lecturer and Dean  of the faculty of theology at University of Livingstonia at the University of Livingstonia.

She is also in the National Integrity Committee of Anti-Corruption Bureau where she is representing the Women pillar. She is also serving in other boards like Life Ministry and Arise ministries.

 

She has a Doctorate in Leadership, Gender and Theology from Stellenbosch University and a Masters in Christian Education/Theology from the same University.

Ahab Kafansiyanji is a Youth Development Worker and is a co-founder and Executive Director of Foundation for Advancement of Youth Development & Empowerment (FAYDE) – a youth servicing NGO in Malawi.  FAYDE seeks to contribute to the development and empowerment of the youth in Malawi in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals by promoting mutual collaboration, coordination, cooperation and unity among the youth.

 

Ahab is passionate about working with youths and he believes young people are a tremendous and essential asset worth investing in as they are the future of tomorrow. In line with this, Ahab has been volunteering nationally and globally in different youth focused activities. He has vast experience in leadership, designing, managing and implementing development programmes.

Ahab is an avid social media user where he enjoys connecting with others.

Paul Chulu is a finance professional holding a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He has worked in various finance capacities in the Malawi financial industry for over 15 years and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for ExpressCredit Limited.

 

He is a first-time board member serving on the Resource Mobilization Committee of the Malawi Scotland Partnership (MaSP) and is interested in people to people relations and learning the cultural diversity between Malawi and Scotland. He hopes to bring his financial expertise to the benefit of the partnership.

 

Personal interests include music and photography, some sports, cars and technology.

Dan Daka is a Legal Practitioner and a graduate of the University of Malawi. He possesses a Master’s Degree in Criminal Law (Transnational Criminal Justice) from the University of the Western Cape, RSA.

He works for Malawi Revenue Authority in the Tax Investigations Department. He is also currently serving the Ministry of Finance as in-house Legal Advisor.
