Our Story and History
Get inspired by our story and historyEstablished in 2005 under the Company’s Act, the Malawi Scotland Partnership (MaSP) is a Malawian owned and Malawian led national network which exists to support, inspire and develop links that benefit both Scottish and Malawian people.Partnership between Scotland and Malawi is 159 years old dating back to 1859 when Dr David Livingstone first came to Malawi. Today, over 46% of Scots know someone with links to Malawi. By creating a coordinating hub for Malawian organizations linked with Scotland, MaSP provides advocacy, training and capacity building, resulting in less duplication, sharing of relevant skills and experience and the establishment of a resource base which enables vulnerable and isolated communities to be better equipped to counter poverty.
