Malawi Scotland Partnership (MASP)  member organization, STEKA Skills centre has finally conducted its first graduation ceremony that has seen 16 students being trained in tailoring and designing.

Despite the Covid 19 pandemic STEKA managed to continue with classes for 6 months to make sure that students are equipped in skills that will make them financially independent.

All participants studied the course free of charge from start to finish inclusive of all the materials used in the process.

God knows Maseko, founder of the centre expressed satisfaction over the completion of the program and praised his Scottish Partners for continued support.

He further said the development supports the government’s effort to educate young people  in the country to lessen issues of unemployment.

On his part Chikondi Gama, one of the graduates who was doing Tailoring and Business expressed hope that the program will change her wellbeing for the better.

The project to train young people was at STEKA Skills Centre supported by Scottish partners Queen Margaret University, St.  Johns and Magdalena and Emma Wood.
