MaSP Northern Region Climate Change Leaders on Wednesday 24th February went beyond Advocacy to  walk the Talk by  planting 1200 trees at Rumphi Secondary.

Climate Change Project Coordinator for Malawi Scotland Partnership, Hendrix Nkhata, said the organization decided to establish a woodlot at Rumphi Secondary as a contribution towards the fight against Climate Change. This comes at a time, when Malawi launched a national wide campaign to plant over 1 million trees.

“This is a sign that we are committed to fight Climate change, and we will ensure that this war is won, we will not stop”   Nkhata said.

On her part Head girl for Rumphi Secondary School, Cecilia Gondwe expressed commitment to take care of the trees to ensure their survival.

“We know how important this is to us and to the world we will keep the trees safe for survival” said Gondwe.

The young leaders also donated Personal Protective Equipment that will help students to curb the spread of the novel Corona Virus
