We are pleased to announce that the SMP responded immediately to the call from the Government of Malawi for increased support from international partners at this most serious time. They are currently in contact with the Minister of Health and will be led by the Presidential Covid-19 Taskforce.
The SMP have invited the Minister to speak in a special joint meeting of the Scottish Parliament’s Malawi Cross Party Group and the UK Parliament’s All-Party Parliamentary Group:

All are welcome to attend this meeting which will look specifically at the worsening Covid situation in Malawi. We will invite UK and Scottish Ministers, as well as leaders of charitable foundations, to attend in the hope of encouraging urgent increased support for Malawi.
We are especially keen to facilitate urgent consideration of support for vaccine roll outs in Malawi.
