MaSP took part in the launch of the National Clean-Up day on 11 November 2020, led by our Climate Change Young Leaders Project team. The day was launched by the President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Lazarus Chakwera accompanied by his Vice Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima. In his Speech the President urged all members of the public, institutions and organisations to take part in ensuring we have a clean environment.

During the launch we displayed some of the initiatives our Climate Change Young Leaders are doing. On display we had Biogas made from household waste, plantable notepads made from recycled materials, seeds that can be planted to grow into trees and briquettes made from waste. These initiatives were shown and briefly explained to the state president by our MaSP Board Chair Dr. Ann Phoya who was also in attendance

 The National Clean up day  will commence on the Friday of every second week, each month from 2 o’clock to five o’clock. The President stressed the need for  all to take part in cleaning the environment, Starting this Friday the 13th of November 2020.
