We were happy to welcome our members to a Joint meeting we had with the Scottish Fair trade on Monday 10th August 2021. The meeting which was themed ‘What is required to be a certified fair trader?’ had participants joining from both Scotland and Malawi.

In her opening speech our CEO Stella Masangano explained MaSP’s ambition to facilitate the growth of Trade between Scotland and Malawi, and that having our members become certified traders was a step in the right direction.

Next up on the Agenda was a detailed Presentation from Thandie Mipando from the MITC. Who gave an introduction of what MITC is, Malawi’s trade policy and the overall trade environment in Malawi. The full presentation can be found here

This was followed by a Presentation from Mzuzu Ehub’s Austin Moyo who shared to the participants the services on offer at Mzuzu Ehub that other members can exploit, among these are helping entrepreneurs find target markets and mentoring. Full presentation here

Last on the presentations was the Scottish Fair Trade Forum’s Presentation from Ross Isdale. His presentation explained focused on the concept of fair trade, how to become a member of the WTFO and the process of becoming verified. Download full presentation here.
