Youth Activist Initiative Organization (YAIO) conducted a refresher training to young people and service providers on Youth Friendly Health Service(YFHS) in order for them to fully understand YFHS

The Refresher training was conducted on 5th March at Mother Teresa Children’s Centre in Chilomoni-Blantyre District and it was aimed at building capacity to the people.

The training reminded the people that YFHS aims to increase and promote relevant approaches that address young people’s health needs and promote YFHS that are accessible, attractive, appropriate and acceptable to the young people.

The Executive Director for YAIO Tony khanyepa said that some of the topics that were discussed during the training were  as follows: Concepts of Youth friendly health Services; HIV/AIDS and Young People; STIs and Young People; Family planning and Contraception; Counseling; and Communication.

The training was attended by Health Service Providers from Chilomoni Health Centre, members of Chilomoni Youth Friendly Health Service Club, young people from Chilomoni Youth Network, Chilomoni Youth Forum, Chirimba Youth Forum, Young Mothers Club, Young Cares Club, Suya Youth Club, Umodzi CBO, Blantyre Urban Youth Officer and Councilor for Michiru Ward.
