The Concerned Youth Organization is training and mentoring women on sustainable agricultural practices in order for women to become lifelong learners and practice sustainable agriculture towards increased farm income through improved agricultural production.
Understanding the challenges which most women are facing on the daily basis of life, on 4th December 2020, Concerned Youth Organization were in the areas of T/A Nyoka and Zulu in Mchinji district where they distributed farm inputs and worked on demonstration sites.
In his remarks the Executive Director, Mr. Harvey Chimaliro, said, they thought it wise to also take part in women empowerment , more especially in as far as farming is concerned since its rain season as well hence the development.
A representative from the Mchinji district council said, the district commissioner is very much happy with developments like these and was much grateful and continues to say as a council“We are keeping an eye on this. We expect to see real change in lives of these women farmers” and the executive director’s last remarks, assured the women and the district council, that the program will go as planned and Thanked them for continued partnership. Together we shall achieve the change we want to see in the lives of our women, he added
