Nancholi Youth Organization (NAYO) is undertaking a mobile clinic with an aim of reaching out to patients who are unable to visit the healthy facilities for medical attention.
The initiative aims to help the people who are in hard to reach areas as some patients do not afford to visit to the clinic due to transportation among other reasons.
NAYO Projects Officer, Faith Chikwewa, said they are targeting 28 villages in Blantyre township especially vulnerable people and isolated communities as a life-saving initiative
Most of the people who are unable to reach health facilities are the people who need palliative care, hence the initiative.
The palliative care that NAYO is assisting communities with are; cancer treatment, Anti-Retroviral Therapy, Under Five clinic, Out-Patient Department, youth friendly Sexual Reproduction Health service.
Chikwewa said that they hope to reach more people with the health services however they have inadequate resources that may hinder to reach their goal.
